Franchitti wins third Indy 500

Dario Franchitti came from the rear of the field to take the win in a dramatic Indy 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Scot spent the late laps trading the lead with Ganassi team-mate Scott Dixon, but Takuma Sato (Rahal Letterman Lanigan) managed to get between the pair with two laps to go and lined Franchitti up for a passing attempt. Sato managed to get alongside Franchitti in the first corner of the final lap, but did not allow himself enough space and bounced off the Ganassi car and into the wall, bringing out the yellows and allowing Franchitti an unchallenged run to the finish

Johnson overcomes Dufner to win at Colonial

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) ? Zach Johnson had already shared celebratory hugs and kisses with his two young sons and talked about his Colonial victory on television. "First time it crossed my mind," said Johnson, who then began to wonder if he had cost himself a victory. After winning last week at the Byron Nelson Championship, he was trying to match Ben Hogan, his hero, as the only players to win both PGA Tour events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the same year. Johnson's eighth PGA Tour victory earned him $1,152,000 even as the 2007 Master champion's record streak of 15 consecutive under-par rounds at Colonial ended. Johnson made par at the same hole where a day earlier his approach settled into a grassy clump only inches from going into that ditch and he had saved par after his approach rolled only inches from the cup. Johnson had blown a two-stroke lead Sunday before going back ahead with a 9-foot birdie putt at the 445-yard 14th. Johnson hit his tee shot into a fairway bunker, then his first attempt out of there hit the lip and rebounded over and behind him before a bogey. [...] they went to the back nine tied at 14 under, after Dufner's approach from 103 yards at the par-4 ninth hit short of the green and rolled back into the water and he made double bogey.

Google Wallet: one year later

The rumors and leaks go back a bit further, but it was a year ago today that Google officially revealed its Google Wallet mobile payment service -- a platform that the company is still betting big on, even if it may be slightly reconsidering the way it does business. While it might not have taken off quite as quickly as Google would have liked, the past year has still been a fairly eventful one for the service -- albeit occasionally for reasons the company would prefer you forget -- and the next year proves to be even more challenging as the service faces increased competition. Read on for a look back at how we got here, and what lies ahead for both Google Wallet and mobile payments in general.

Nas' New Video Is Through His Daughter's Eyes

'This song for Nas is so personal, everything in the song is real,' director Chris Robinson tells MTV News about video, set to premiere Sunday.

Nas is notoriously private, but on his latest single, "Daughters," the Queensbridge Don gets pretty personal. He first rapped about baby Destiny Jones on his 1994 single "The World is Yours," but now Baby Des is a full-blown teenager, and in the video premiering Sunday on MTV Jams, he chronicles their daddy-daughter relationship through her eyes.

"Right off the bat, he really loved the idea of the P.O.V.," the video's director, Chris Robinson, told MTV News by phone Thursday.

Robinson, who has a 6-year-old daughter, said he got choked up the first time he heard the soul-bearing track, in which Nas admits to both his faults and disappointments as a dad. The track, which will appear on the rapper's upcoming Life is Good LP, immediately began to spark creative ideas for the veteran lens man — though the call to cast Destiny in the clip came from God's Son himself.

"I think that this song for Nas is so personal, everything in the song is real, that he wanted to share this moment with his fans, with the world, and it was actually his suggestion," Robinson revealed. "I was ready to cast someone, and he was real calm and said, 'Hey, Dest is gonna be here, I think we need to keep it real.' "

Though Nas is more famous than most dads, there are certain trials and tribulations that can't be eclipsed by money and fame. There are certain universal laws that all fathers face.

"You still can't escape the everyday things of your child growing up. You can be the king of Zamunda," Robinson said, referencing the fictional Africa country made famous in Eddie Murphy's 1988 comedy "Coming to America," "Or you can be a rapper, or you can be a regular guy with a regular job, but there are certain things that happen as a child grows. So, the concept of the video is that."
