A "GUN gesture" was made in a packed Bristol pub shortly before a man was shot dead in the street, a jury heard.
Nicole Broom told Bristol Crown Court she and friends came to the city on the evening of last year's St Paul's Carnival, and she saw a man indicating he had a gun in a crowd Rico Gordon had been with in the packed Coach House pub.
Miss Broom said that, later, she saw a hooded man in the street, who fired several shots from a gun.
She described how she and her friends were in an Audi car and they ducked down as they sped from the scene in Stapleton Road. They returned to find a fatally-wounded Mr Gordon, 21, who received a ricochet bullet to his head and died at the scene on July 3 last year.
Two men from London are on trial. Shakah Anderson, 31, denies murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Rickel Adams, 27, denies murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and two charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Miss Broom said she travelled from London to Bristol in a red Audi with four friends, including Mr Gordon's sister, Calita. She said she saw her cousin in Bristol, who was with Mr Gordon and others.
She told the jury: "He was a bit drunk and happy."
Miss Broom said after she saw the confrontation at the Coach House she saw Mr Gordon in the street and he walked up and joked with her.
She then described how a hooded, "creeping" man appeared, holding a gun and shooting across the road.
Miss Broom crouched down and held her ears as the car she was in quickly drove away. When they returned, they saw Mr Gordon's body on the ground.
Princess Adams, Rickel Adams' aunt, said she drove an Audi belonging to Rico Gordon's mother to Bristol with four friends.
She also described an apparent confrontation between two men in the Coach House.
Later, she said, one of the men in the pub confrontation passed by her car, as she sat in the driver's seat, and he and another man opened fire on a crowd opposite before they ran off in different directions.
She told the court that her police statement, that someone in the crowd fired first, was not correct and said she did not see Rickel Adams in the pub or on the street. She insisted she was not trying to protect anyone.
The case continues.
