Grosjean hit with gearbox penalty

Romain Grosjean will be hit with a five-place grid penalty for the United States Grand Prix thanks to a gearbox change. Grosjean's Lotus hit gearbox trouble during Saturday morning's one-hour free practice session, losing fourth gear and forcing the team to fit a replacement unit before qualifying. It is the second time that Grosjean has had to serve a penalty for changing his gearbox, the first coming in July's German Grand Prix.
